What is an ACN and why do I need one?

ACN stands for Australian Company Number. When ASIC registers a company, it assigns a 9-digit ACN as its unique identifier. Your ACN allows shareholders, partners, customers to search for information on your company and provides proof that it is an incorporated entity.

How long does it take to register my business?

Biz Registrations’ straightforward and simple company registration form takes less than 15 minutes to complete. Once lodged your company registration takes just 2-3 minutes.

How much does it cost to register my business?

Prices start from $559, which includes your ASIC lodgement fee. Various add-on services are also available, additional fees apply.

How soon after registering my business can I start trading?

After lodging your company registration form, you should receive an email confirming that your company is registered within 2-3 minutes. As soon as you receive this email, you can start trading.

What do I need to complete the application?

There is no need to submit documentation, but you should have the following information to hand:

Your chosen company name
You should check the business register first to ensure it is available. Remember that company names and business/trading names can be different. Contact us if you need more information.

The type of company you are registering
Intended business activity and how your company will be structured e.g. private limited company.

Your registered office address & place of business address (if different) Note:
This must be street addresses, PO BOX numbers are not acceptable. Company Director details Full name, home address, telephone number, date and place of birth and TFN. Note: At least one director must be an Australian citizen.

Shareholder information
Information on share distribution and type of shares owned as well as details of the owners of those shares (individual/company name and contact details).

Do I need to register a business name?

If you are intending to trade under a name that is different to your registered company name, you must also register the trading name. You can have multiple trading names (brands) under a single company registration. Contact us if you need more information.
